CM praises Jats, fulfils demands

Delhi Chief Minister  Sheila Dikshit on Friday claimed that Delhi is the first state in the country to have granted other backward class (OBC) status to the Jat community in the Capital, thus enabling them to avail benefits in government services that are reserved for members of the OBC category. The capital had granted the community OBC status a few years back.

Speaking at the  All India Jats Convention at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, the chief minister said that her government will provide land for the Kisan Bhawan in Delhi, which has been a long pending demand of the Jat Maha Sabha.

The Chief Minister also praised the contributions made by the community in the economic development and defence sector of the country.
