CM flight scare: Bidhannagar Commissionerate writes to IndiGo

Bidhannagar Commissionerate wrote a letter to the IndiGo authorities seeking important information on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s flight. It may be recalled that the Commissionerate started a suo motu case to investigate why the flight was behaving dubiously in mid-sky while returning from Patna to Kolkata on November 30.

Amid allegations that its aircraft carrying Banerjee was made to hover over Kolkata airport putting at the risk of passengers’ safety, IndiGo last Thursday shrugged off its responsibility saying the plane was delayed due to congestion before making a normal landing and had adequate fuel.

“We will grill the two suspended pilots. A lot will come out from that,” said an investigating officer in. Firhad Hakim said: “There was serious inconvenience to the CM and other passengers. The pilot sought permission for landing from the ATC as the plane was low on fuel, but the ATC kept the flight on hold. This was a conspiracy to eliminate Mamata Banerjee.”
