Class XII student kills self over failed relationship

A Class XII student allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison over a failed relationship with her boyfriend at her school in the Azadpur area of North-west Delhi on Friday morning. According to the police, the incident came to light at around 9 am at the MCD school in Azadpur area where one of the friends of the victim saw her lying unconscious on the toilet floor. She raised an alarm and informed her teacher.

Police sources said that the girl had consumed poison at her home in Jahangirpuri and by the time she reached school, she started puking and collapsed on the floor. When the school authorities rushed her to a nearby government hospital, she was declared brought dead by the doctors. Police sources further said that they recovered a suicide note in which the girl had mentioned that she is taking the extreme step as she broke up with her boyfriend.

After the post-mortem was conducted, her body was handed over to her family.

Police have initiated a case under relevant sections of the Inquest Proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC at the Model Town police station. Further investigation is underway.
