Class IX student commits suicide in Siliguri

Mystery shrouds the death of a boy student of Class IX whose body was recovered from the room of a girls’ school where the victim’s father used to work as a security guard.

The incident had triggered tension among the people at Hakimpara in Siliguri after his body was spotted by some local residents on Sunday morning when they were carrying out a search for the boy who did not return home on Sunday morning.

The victim, Prahlad Roy used to go to the Hakimpara Girls’ School as his father had been working there for quite some time.

His family members told the police that the victim had an examination on Saturday which went very badly.

On Saturday afternoon, when he returned home, he was visibly disappointed by his performance in the examination.

The family members told the police that he might have committed suicide due to this. Prahlad was 
a student of Class IX from Vivekanda School in Siliguri. He was also good in karate.

On Sunday morning when the victim’s family members along with some local people were carrying out searches in the school, they found that the victim was hanging from the ceiling.

According to the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the boy might have committed suicide.

They are examining if there is any foul play into the incident.

They interrogated the local people and the victim’s family members in this connection. His body has been sent for the post-mortem examination.
