Clash incident: CPI(M) candidate summoned by police

Police on Saturday summoned the CPI(M) candidate from Ramnagar Assembly constituency in connection with a incident in which he had got engaged into a clash with Trinamool Congress supporters. 

It may be mentioned that a complaint was lodged against the candidate Tapash Sinha alleging that he had beaten up Trinamool Congress workers and leaders including Shusanta Patra outside Digha Hospital. 

The incident took place on March 9 when some children were admitted in the hospital after taking de-worming medicine. Police had arrested four persons in connection to the incident. 

Sinha had also lodged complaint against some workers of Trinamool Congress with Digha Mohana police station. The Police on Saturday issued summon against ten persons including Sinha. They were asked to be present in the police station within five days after receiving the notice. 

The election at Ramnagar Assembly seat in East Midnapore is scheduled to be on May 5.
