Clash breaks out in Howrah over possession of land

Tension ran high at Natunpara  area in Howrah after a clash broke out between two groups over the possession of a piece of land. The incident took place in front of a local club when some motor cycle borne miscreants reached the spot and attacked some of the club members. The culprits fired two rounds of bullet. The local people said that all the gang members were carrying fire arms and sharp weapons along with them. Two notorious criminals of the area had led the attack.

As the incident occurred in broad day light in a populated area it had created a panic among the residents. People started fleeing from one place to another when they saw the criminals with fire arms travelling on motor cycles. After being informed the police from nearby Jagachha police station rushed to the spot. However, the criminals had fled from the spot following the incident. 

Police and local people rescued a youth and took him to a hospital. He had sustained some injuries on all over his body. Police are investigating if there was any political angle behind the incident. Police suspect that this could be a fall out of any old rivalry between the two groups.  

Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and started raids in the nearby area to nab the culprits. They are also interrogating some of the local people.
