‘Civic body fails to meet targets’

The leader of opposition in South Delhi Municipal Corporation Farhad Suri has alleged that local civic body is unable to achieve its revenue and expenditure targets.
‘The projects of the corporation are being made on papers but hardly executed. The corporation is unable to achieve the target of revenue collection and budget expenditure. Surprisingly, the commissioner decreased the revenue targets for various departments in his revised budget estimate for 2012-13 and proposed budget for the next financial year,’ said Farhad Suri, Leader of Opposition in SDMC. ‘Decreasing the revenue targets is unfortunate and commissioner must adopt measures to achieve the targets,’ added Suri. Senior congress leader Farhad Suri has alleged that hundreds of crores money allocated for various projects are lying idle and likely to lapse due to apathy of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).
