CISF arrests four for smuggling gold at IGI

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Thursday arrested two passengers along with two airport employees from IGI Airport for allegedly smuggling gold, in two separate incidents. They have also recovered 6 kg gold from their possession.

The surveillance and intelligence team of CISF had received a tip-off about the accused. On Thursday morning, one Kudathamkandi Nassar, who arrived from Dubai was caught red-handed while trying to handover 3 kg gold biscuits to a person from ground handling staff, near a washroom at IGI Airport’s Terminal 3. Both were handed over to custom officials for further action.

In separate incident on Thursday, the CISF personnel followed one passenger Md Nasir Husain, who had arrived from Riyadh. The officers found that the passenger met an employee of the aviation company inside a washroom. Both of them were intercepted by CISF and 26 gold bars were recovered from their possession. The gold was hidden inside the shoes. They were also handed over to custom official for further probe.
