CIB of RPF held for instigating theft in Railways

An inspector of Crime Intelligence Bureau (CIB) of Railway Protection Force (RPF) has been arrested for his alleged involvement in instigating some persons to steal railway assets.

The incident took place Jalpaiguri Town station. According to the sources in the RPF, various railway assets were stolen last year. After starting a probe into the incident, the RPF found negligence on the part of the accused, Rabiranjan Kumar who was arrested for instigating the theft. 

In August 2015, while being transported in a truck, some railway equipment worth Rs 10 lakh disappeared. Following which allegations were raised against various senior officials of the Railways including the accused and a probe was conducted against them.

Altogether 11 persons including 7 Railway employees have been arrested in this connection so far.
