Chinkara case: HC hears arguments on Salman petition

Arguments began on Tuesday in the Rajasthan High Court on the revision petition filed by Bollywood actor Salman Khan against his 5-year jail sentence for poaching one chinkara in Mathania near Jodhpur in September, 1998. Beginning the arguments, Khan’ s counsel Mahesh Bora pointed to the difference in statements of key witness Harish Dulani, the driver of the Gypsy vehicle used in alleged poaching. “In his statements given to the police, Dulani categorically mentioned the role of the co-accused but he changed his statements in the court”, argued Bora.
