Chinese delegation visits Kolkata

A 10 member Chinese delegation on Wednesday held talks with senior state government officials about business prospects in Bengal.

The government gave a presentation highlighting the proposed areas where it seeks investment, such as MSME, major industries, hardware and software and agro-based industry.

It also showcased its achievements in these areas in the last five years and the facilities available.

The team also discussed prospective areas of business with China. The team will study the state’s presentation and send a team from the industry for further talks.

China has been showing interest to invest in Bengal for some time and is sending teams to explore various areas. State Finance minister Amit Mitra had recently taken a business delegation to China and discussed opportunities.
