Chemtura acquires bromine assets of Solaris ChemTech Limited

Global speciality chemicals company Chemtura Corporation announced on 26 September  2012 that it had entered into an agreement to acquire the bromine assets of Solaris ChemTech Industries Limited or SCIL, India’s leading manufacturer of bromine and bromine derivatives. The addition further extends Chemtura’s participation in India, strengthening their presence in a market that they had targeted for profitable growth.

The Bromine and Bromine Chemicals division of Solaris ChemTech was established in the 1990s and has grown to be India’s premier manufacturer of bromine. The acquisition includes two manufacturing facilities, a well-established R&D center and a multi-products facility in Gujarat. The new subsidiary will be headquartered in New Delhi.
