Cheat held for duping man of Rs 12 cr

A 30-year-old man has been arrested for cheating many people in and around Delhi-NCR of money worth several crores from the Krishna Nagar area on Saturday, police said. The accused person, identified as Danish Ahmad, had been hiding somewhere in Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh.

“On October 17, at around 11.15 am, police got a tip-off that he is staying in Delhi and will come for shopping at Lal quarters in Krishna Nagar,” said B S Gurjar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East). 

“During interrogation, he revealed that he has cheated many people including one <g data-gr-id="11">person</g> Taiyyab Ali of Rs 10-12 crore,” the official said. Police said that his modus operandi involved alluring people with hefty profit on the money which they deposited with him. He even paid them two-third of the total deposited money.
