Charge-sheet against Musa says he planned attack on Mother House
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has initiated a search for the associates of IS operative, Mohammad Musa, who are present as ‘sleeper cells’ in certain parts of the country and with whom he had discussed the plan of carrying out a terror attack at Mother House in Central Kolkata.
In its recent charge-sheet that NIA had filed in connection with the arrest of Musa, who was interrogated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) last month, the investigating agency claimed that he had a plan to carry out a terror attack in Mother House where residents of different countries including US and UK keep visiting round the year.
Musa was arrested from inside Viswa-Bharati Fast Passenger at Burdwan Station on July 4 during a joint raid conducted by the NIA and state police officers when he was returning home at Labhpur in Birbhum from Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu where he had been staying for the past few years.
Though he had mainly discussed about his planned attack in Bengal with leaders of terror outfits outside the country, he had also discussed the plan with some of his counterparts in the country as well. Considering that the associates of Musa who are still in the country are suspected to get active with his arrest, the investigating officers have initiated a search for them after getting certain information about them from Musa itself.
The investigation revealed that the plan to carry out attack at Mother House, which is the headquarters of the Missionaries of Charity, was quite similar to the attack at Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka. The main target was to create panic among the people of the country by claiming lives of foreigners as they did by attacking the bakery in Dhaka.
In the charge-sheet, NIA mentioned that Musa had even discussed about the origin of the people from abroad who mainly visit Mother House. He passed the information saying that people from America, Russia and UK visit the place. He had also discussed about the other places around Mother House like Sealdah Station and Park Circus that remain crowded for a major span of time in a day.
The NIA officers also came to know that he even had contacts with some leaders of Indian Mujahideen. He was also in close contact with most leaders of Jamat-Ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). The investigating officers also came to know that he used to use a particular mobile phone app Telegram. Since the investigating agency has come to know about the app that is being secretly used by Musa, it would not be a too difficult task to identify his associates in the country who also know about the plan of attacking Mother House.
