CESC ready to meet peak power demand in March

Power consumption in CESC area is all set to create a record with the highest electricity demand reaching to a staggering 1711 MW on March 29.

According to a CESC spokesman, the augmentation of demand mostly due to installation of new AC machines is on the upswing. “We are ready to meet more demands arising out of AC installations in April and May,” the spokesman aid.

With the rise in temperature, CESC is expecting a higher demand of 1970 MW in April and 2035 MW in May, a company spokesman said in the city on Wednesday.

He said that during elections, CESC was fully geared up to attend all supply problems. Along with the generating stations, the entire distribution system is being constantly upgraded and all unexpected supply disruption would be attended to at the shortest possible time.
