Centre not allotting land to party in Delhi, will write to Venkaiah Naidu: TMC

Trinamool Congress will write to union Urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu requesting him to allot a plot to the party in New Delhi.

The party leaders in Kolkata on Saturday alleged that the party had deposited Rs 20 lakh to the Urban development minister some time ago. Accordingly, the ministry had shown a plot of land to the party leaders but the land had a temple at that time.

The party then requested it to show some more plots. But since then the Ministry did not take up the matter.Several letters to the Ministry drawing its attention in the matter have failed to yield results.

The leaders said that the party over the years has grown and became a national party recently.

Party leaders and workers often have to visit Delhi and at times their accommodation becomes a major problem. The party proposed to set up a building where besides an office, rooms will be constructed to put up workers.

The leaders maintained that in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the party will play a major role in National politics.

They alleged that deliberately steps had not yet been taken to allot land because of the party’s supremo Mamata Banerjee’s sharp criticism of Narendra Modi government.
