Central Railways spell out success of electrification

Jagdev Kalia , general manager, Central Organisation Railway Electrification organised a press conference to highlight the achievements of Railway electrification. The target of 6500 RKM fixed for the 12th Five Year Plan has nearly been achieved as 1317 RKM has already been energised. During the financial year 2012-13 as much as 937 R.KM by CORE and ( 380 RKM by RVNL and Zonal Railways ) has been energised which is an achievement in itself as it is the highest ever in history of CORE. The overall quantum of OHE work has registered an increase in performance in comparison to the previous year. Eighteen Traction Substations were completed during 2012-13 and signaling modifications to suit Railway Electrification have been commissioned at 41 stations and 17 LC gates in 2012-13.
