Celebrating the wanderlust

Delhi Tourism celebrated World tourism Day with a lot of colours and zeal in Dilli Haat on Friday. The theme of this years celebration was Tourism and Water. A cultural shows with folk dances from across the nation were presented to the audience.  On the occasion, Sheila Dikshit, chief minister of 
Delhi was present along with actor Amir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani.

The purpose of celebrating world tourism day was to promote awareness among the international community about the importance of Tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. 
‘This year’s theme will focus around tourism and water, it has a unique opportunity to raise awareness of tourism’s role in water saving,’ said Dikshit. Tourism and water will be the theme for Delhi tourism throughout the year. 

Amir Khan who is the ambassador for Indian tourism shared his personal and shooting experiences with Delhi. He also said that ‘Delhi is one of my favourite city, I have been to many monuments for my shootings and city is close to my heart.’

He is currently shooting for his next movie in the Capital with Hirani. ‘I have seen city closely for the first time during the shoot, Humayun's Tomb to Hauz Khaz village we have shot everywhere and each place has its uniqueness and a story behind it,’ said the director.
