CEC to visit Kolkata to review poll preparedness

With Assembly elections in West Bengal due next year, the Chief Election Commissioner and fellow Election Commissioners will be visiting Kolkata on Thursday to review the poll preparedness and the ongoing revision of electoral rolls.

“CEC Nasim Zaidi and ECs A K Joti and O P Rawat will be reaching Kolkata tonight to review ongoing electoral roll revision and poll preparedness in state,”  EC said here.

During their one-day stay on Thursday, the Commission will meet representatives of political parties, all district electoral officers, SSPs, commissioners, top civil and police officers of state.

The five-year term of the West Bengal Assembly is coming to an end on May 29, 2016.
