CD case: Special Cell questions Shanti Bhushan

On Tuesday, Delhi Police Special Cell went to Shanti Bhushan's residence in Sector-14, Noida, to question him about the CD controversy, on Tuesday. Prashant Bhushan was also present there.

Two officers from L N Rao team of Special Cell visited Bhushan's house at 4.45 pm and came out an hour later.

Apparently, the controversial CD shows Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, lawyer Shanti Bhushan and politician Amar Singh talking about managing a Supreme Court judge and a deal of Rs 4 crore.

After the closure report on the issue, court had ordered Delhi Police to investigate further in this matter.

When Millennium Post contacted Prashant Bhushan, he said after the court gave directions  to police, the Magistrate complained to the Special Cell Staff that they were not investigating the matter properly.

'Because of that, the special staff came to us and enquired about when the CD came to them. We had also sent the CD to the US for voice check and the Special Staff wanted to question us about that too,' he said.

In December 2011, a closure report was submitted by the Delhi Police in Tiz Hazari Court saying the CD was genuine.

But the court did not accept the report and directed the police to investigate the matter thoroughly.

Prashant Bhushan, son of Shanti Bhushan and Team Anna Member, had dragged the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) into the issue as well.

He alleged PMO was behind withholding a forensic report, which said the CD was doctored.

Prashant Bhushan claimed the PMO, in response to RTI of Subhash Aggarwal, gave him only Delhi CFSL report and not the Chandigarh report.

On 14 April last year, Shanti Bhushan had also filed a complaint to Delhi police, alleging that the CD was fabricated.
