CBSE to deliver question papers online to affliated schools

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in a move to establish a full-proof delivery of the question papers for Classes IX and X, has decided to generate online question papers in various subjects.

According to a CBSE official, ‘CBSE has decided to generate question papers of Classes IX and X online. This step has been taken to curb loopholes in the delivery of question papers to the schools.’

The CBSE official also said, ‘We have a web-based technology solution called ‘CBSE Integrated Test Management System (CBSE-ITMS)’. The CBSE ITMS is an application that automates question papers and marking scheme integration and distribution. Question papers and marking schemes are automatically generated online. This innovative solution will allow the CBSE affiliated schools to access question papers and download them in a transparent and secure way.’

According to him, the board earlier used to provide question papers in CD format to different schools located in different states of country. ‘But it was found that this has led to some confusion: sometimes, the same question paper has been delivered to many schools.

Under the proposed method, the principals will have their own ID and password, through which they would be able to access the information,’ said the official.

The CBSE has requested the principals of all CBSE affiliated schools to register themselves in the system starting from the next month.
