CBSE crosses first milestone in introducing Gender Studies

Central Board of secondary Education (CBSE) has completed its blueprint to introduce Human Rights and Gender Studies as an optional subject in Class XI and XII from the coming session.

When sought for an opinion, Vineet Joshi, chairman of the CBSE, informed said, ‘This syllabus has been added to increase the value -based education and morality among students. Under this course, not only gender studies but also human rights  will be taught to students.’

He added, ‘We are planing to introduce it in Class XI from this year itself.’

CBSE has been providing human rights’ education since 2009. The kit prepared for teachers will help them teach students in an innovative way. This kit has been prepared with the help of experts.

After the change in the National curriculum of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in 2005, Human Rights was included in the syllabus.
