CBI to move higher court against Mitra’s bail

CBI Special Crime Branch, which is probing Saradha ponzi scheme scam, said it will move a higher court against the bail granted to West Bengal minister Madan Mitra, who was arrested by the investigating agency.

"We will move the higher court praying for Mitra's bail cancellation," the investigation officer dealing with the case said.

The officer said CBI would move the higher court next week. Asked to elaborate, the officer, who was not present in the court hearing on Saturday as he was out of station said "I have just landed".

"The Saradha probe had reached an advanced stage and Mitra getting bail at this juncture would
have the potential to jeopardise the probe process," he added.

A judge of Alipore court on Saturday granted bail to Mitra, who had been under arrest for over ten months.
