CBI summons TMC MP in Saradha scam

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Trinamool Congress MP Vivek Gupta in connection with Saradha chit-fund scam. 

It was learnt that CBI has sent a mail to Gupta asking him to appear before its office at Salt Lake with the documents that the central investigating agency had sought for. According to CBI sources, there were some financial transactions between Saradha and Gupta which the investigating agency needs to verify. CBI has asked Gupta to submit the details of the transactions made between him and Saradha. 

The personal secretary of Gupta has told the CBI that he was currently out of town and he will appear before the investigating officers with documents. The investigating officers came to know that around Rs 30 lakh were transferred to Gupta’s account from the Saradha’s account. They will ask Gupta why he had taken money from the Saradha Group of Companies. 

A senior CBI official said that they will submit another supplementary charge sheet before the Assembly elections.
