CBI files second charge sheet naming Cong MP

Naming Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Darda and others, CBI has filed its second charge sheet before a Delhi court, a day before intimating the Supreme Court about the progress in the coal scam probe. The agency has booked the accused under section 420, 120 B of IPC and section 9 of Prevention and corruption Act (PC act).

Special CBI judge Madhu Jain has listed the matter to consider the second charge sheet of the case on 1 May. While registering an FIR, the CBI had booked directors of AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd Arvind Kumar Jayaswal, Manoj Jayaswal, Ramesh Jayaswal and Devendra Darda, son of Vijay Darda, along with unknown public servants of coal ministy and other unknown persons as accused in the case. ‘The enquiry revealed that AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd had misrepresented/concealed facts in its application form in order to qualify and obtain wrongful gains/undue benefits in connivance with unknown public servants, ‘CBI had said in FIR. The agency is schedule to apprise the Supreme court on Friday about the status report of investigation in the scam.
