Cattle thieves face mob fury in G Noida village, 3 lynched

In a horrific incident, three cattle thieves were beaten to death by villagers in a Greater Noida village on Sunday morning. 

Police said that the thieves were targeted by the villagers when they were attempting to steal cattle. 
Police have sent the bodies for postmortem but have not registered  the case against the errant villagers involved in lynching till now. 

Two of the deceased have been identified as Anas (30) and Arif (32) while the identity of <g data-gr-id="40">third</g> victim is yet to be established. The deceased are residents of <g data-gr-id="41">Kasna</g> in Greater Noida.

Police said that six cattle thieves had come to the village on two motorcycles and one <g data-gr-id="39">canter</g> at around <g data-gr-id="38">3am</g>. They barged into a farmhouse owned by a person named Babu Ram.

 “The owner of the farmhouse woke up after listening to noise. He raised an alarm and alerted the villagers,” said a local. 

Soon a number of local people armed with sticks and rods gathered at the spot and surrounded the thieves.

Anurag Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, said that three thieves rode the motorcycles and managed to escape. 

“The three others were caught by the mob. The local people thrashed them badly and they were injured. A team of police officials <g data-gr-id="43">reached at</g> the spot and rushed them to <g data-gr-id="42">hospital</g> where all three succumbed to injuries,” Singh said. 

Meanwhile, police have registered a complaint against the cattle thieves, and not against those people who lynched three of them. 

“The local people have registered a complaint against the cattle thieves. No relative or family members of the deceased have come to us. We will register a case against if they come to us,” 
Singh said.
