CAT-II operations begin at Lucknow, Amritsar airports

CAT-II operations have begun at Lucknow and Amritsar airports respectively, with effect from the December 17, 2015, evening. This will facilitate landing of aircraft in foggy conditions with visibility down to 300 meter. At these airports, Airports Authority of India has installed CAT-III compliant instrument landing system (ILS) with other infrastructure for commencing CAT III-B operations and the work is in progress.
