CAT 2013 registration starts with option of electronic purchase of vouchers

Registration process for CAT 2013 started on Monday, with the option of purchasing vouchers electronically this year. The process will go on till 26 September.
Sources said, 'Registration to the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013, for entrance to institutes of management studies has saw a buzz on Monday, with the implementation of the new option this year of purchasing vouchers electronically.' The vouchers will can also be obtained from Axis Bank branches.
'For the general category and other backward category student, vouchers cost Rs 1,600. Vouchers for students from the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and physically disabled categories cost Rs 800.’
Another official said, 'The students will be required to fill the voucher details, educational history, mark sheets, work experience details and the list of Indian Institute Of Management (IIM) programmes they will be looking for'.
'The option to purchase vouchers electronically has been introduced from this year. We hope this brings added convenience to the registration process. The examination will be of 140-minute duration, and candidates will have 70 minutes to answer 30 questions in each section, which will have an on-screen countdown timer,’ said a source.
The CAT examination will be held between 16 October to 11 November in 40 cities across the country. CAT 2013 will have only two sections: quantitative ability and data interpretation; and verbal ability and logica reasoning.
