Capital to do its bit for power conservation

For popularising LED lighting as a cost effective medium for power conservation, a three-day expo will be organised at Pragati Maidan on 14 December with over 300 exhibitors showcasing their products.

Spread over an area of 1.2 lakh square feet, the ‘LED Expo-2012’ will see participation of companies from various countries such as Germany, Italy, UK, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, China, USA, Korea and Hong Kong.

‘LED market has grown beyond expectation in last few years. The technology, application, availability and versatility of LEDs has outgrown so much that it is impossible to imagine that any sector could have remained untouched from its wide application,’ Expo’s organiser Himani Gulati said.

The expo will be inaugurated by Delhi’s Power Minister Haroon Yusuf who will also be chief guest for the occasion.

Gulati said the Expo will present a platform for conducting new innovations and interaction between industry experts for growth of the LED sector.

The seventh edition of the show is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors from the industry and qualified buyers from various fields such as architecture, hospitality, real estate, educational
institutions, municipal corporations and lighting designers.

There would be live demos showcasing various applications of LED lighting with mock up rooms to give exact effect of LED lighting in action, a release said.
