Calcutta Medical College & Hospital to get water ATM

The Calcutta Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) in the city is the first hospital in the state to get a water ATM machine which will immensely benefit the patients visiting the hospitals and their relatives.
The public health engineering (PHE) department in the state has consented to set up a water ATM inside the hospital campus soon. There has been a crisis of drinking water in the hospital during the summer season.

As hundreds of the patients and their relatives visit the hospital on a regular basis there is a shortage of drinking water in the hospital. Sensing that the crisis may be further intensified in the summer the hospital superintendent, few months ago had written to the minister of the department urging him to set up a water ATM at the hospital so that patients do not face the shortage of water. After going through the pleas of the medical superintendent of the hospital the PHE department has agreed to set up a water ATM machine. It was learnt that it would be installed near the emergency building of the hospital.

It may be mentioned that a water ATM machine has already been installed at Ekdalia Park area in Ballygunge. The PHE department had received tremendous response from the people in Ballygunge after the machine was set up there.  According to the department more than 50 water ATMs would come up at various places in the state where there is a shortage of drinking water. The work would be done in various phases by the department.
