Café Ekante to celebrate 1st anniversary on May 15

West Bengal Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) will hold a week-long programme to celebrate the first anniversary of Café Ekante starting from May 15.

The restaurant situated with the Eco park complex in New Town was named by Mamata Banerjee. The restaurant is situated on Eco island and boats are there to ferry the guests. It may be mentioned here that a restaurant on a houseboat has been recently opened in Eco Park. HIDCO chairman Debashis Sen said the restaurant would be lit up to celebrate the occasion. There will be a special dish each day. Also, as the celebration is being held within Kobipokkho, there will be another dish Thakurbarir mangsho.

The restaurant has gained immense popularity and hundreds of people are visiting it on Saturdays and holidays. A Japanese garden is coming up and there is space where people could jogging and cycling.
