B’wood stars join hands with cricketers for a cause

The sport football is going to turn deadly entertaining soon. Reason? Its going to be a clash of the titans between the teams of Bollywood actors and Indian Cricket team as they will lock horns at a charity football match to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on 30 March.

Managed by GS Worldwide Entertainment, the All Stars Football Club (ASFC) spearheaded by Bollywood icons Abhishek Bachchan(captain) and Ranbir Kapoor will play against the All Hearts Football Club (AHFC) comprising of the Indian Cricket Team, led by captain Virat Kohli.

Other stars in the ASFC team are Dino Morea,  Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Marc Robinson, Shabir Ahluwalia, Karan Wahi, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sachiin Joshi, Raj Kundra and Leander Paes and cricketers which are a part of AHFC include Yuvraj Singh, M S Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Rohit Sharma, Zaheer Khan, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma.

Both Bachchan and Kohli unvieled the trophy and official jersey in the Capital recently. Talking about the initiative, Abhishek Bachchan, an ardent Chelsea fan said, ‘We had an opportunity to popularise the sport in India and to also make a difference to society and that is the main reason why we got involved in this game. As a captain I would like to create a benchmark for leadership and fair play. We have been working very hard to try and prepare a competitive team and strive to do our best.’

Virat Kohli added, ‘It is quite obvious that football is our second most favorite sport and this match presents a perfect platform for all of us to come together for a noble cause.’

‘The main aim of the All Star Football Club is to collect money for charity while using the ever growing game of football in India as a platform to do so. This is in turn also helps promoting the sport in India,’ added Abhishek Bachchan.
