Businessman’s house attacked in Liluah

Unidentified miscreants raided the house of a businessman, hurled bombs at his residence and ransacked the car parked outside the house at Bhattanagar in Liluah early on Monday morning.

A complaint was lodged with the police but no one has been arrested yet.

According to the complaint, the miscreants raided the house of Kanti Rankan Sengupta, a local businessman early on Monday morning and hurled bombs breaking the window panes of his house. His car which was parked in front of the house was damaged.

The police was informed but before arrival of the police, the criminals fled.

No one has been arrested so far in connection with the incident.

In another incident, a police constable was beaten up by a youth in an inebriated state. The youth has been arrested.

The police said that the youth boarded a private bus on his way to Howrah station from Phansitala more. He passed lewd comments at some women passengers.

The conductor of the bus initially tried to stop him and finally reported the matter to a traffic constable. When the constable arrived the youth beat him up.

He was soon overpowered and arrested. The constable was taken to a dispensary where he was treated.
