Businessman shot dead, three held

It has been alleged that Nur’s business partner had called him out of the house on late Friday night.
After he met him at Mullick Bazar area, an altercation broke out between the two, following which one of the accused who was accompanying the Nur’s business partner shot him from a close quarter.

The victim fell on the ground after he received three bullet injuries on his body.The local people rescued him and took him to the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital late Friday night. After fighting for his life for few hours the victim succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

Police have held three persons in this connection so far. Nur’s family members told the police that his business partners had called up on his mobile phone and asked him to come out.Later when he came out of the house he was shot by the miscreants. They also claimed that Nur was a Trinamool Congress supporter and was involved in real estate raw materials’ supply business.

Police came to know that the victim used to operate a car parking lot in the area. The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained by the police.According to the preliminary investigation, police suspect that a rivalry over the syndicate business might have led to the incident.

After examining the CCTV footages, police have identified one person. Police said that two miscreants came on a motorcycle. One of them shot the victim. Police have held three persons in this connection so far and a probe is on.

 The victim’s family members alleged that Nur’s business partners Safik and Kelo were involved in the crime. Police have already arrested Safik and Kelo who are the residents of Bandarpatti area.

After the incident took place senior police officers reached to the spot at midnight. Police also engaged sniffer dogs to trace the route of the assailants. Police had recovered two rounds of used cartridges from the site.
