Businessman returns home without family members

Siyaram Gupta, a Delhi businessman, who spent three days in Uttarakhand in search of his son, daughter-in-law, and three-year-old grand daughter, had to return home without having found any trace   of his family members.

'I searched for them at all the possible places and even among the dead bodies recovered by the rescue teams for three days, but could not get any information. I had to finally register a missing case with the police in Rishikesh and return home,' said the businessman in Rohini. His son Lokesh (30), daughter-in-law Dimple (28), granddaughter Kanan (3), along with Dimple's parents, had gone to visit Kedarnath. 'My son called me at approximately 12.30 pm on 15 June from Gauri Kund which was the last communication with us,' added Gupta.

A traders body in Delhi, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has claimed that 24 family members of the association’s members are missing in Uttarkhand. 'We have sent the list of names, along with their pictures, to the officers and even a team of senior members of CAIT visited the area, but no trace of them have been found yet,' said Praveen Khandelwal, general secretary of CAIT.

Another family in the city’s Rohini area, the Goels,   are also missing . Four members of the family, Sushil Goel (44), Sanjay Garg (46), Anju Goel (43), and Salu Garg (42) have been missing since 16 June.
Most of the members among the 24 family members of  the traders are approximately 40 years of age but a 14-year-old boy Vaibhav Sharm is
also missing.
