Spl session to clear state GST Bill from May 4: Hry FM

Haryana Finance Minister Captain said this today while emphasising that the new tax regime slated to be implemented from July 1, 2017, would benefit all stakeholders.

A special session of the Haryana Assembly would be convened on May 4 to pass the state Goods and Services Bill.

"A special session of the Vidhan Sabha has been convened on May 4, to approve the State Goods and Services Bill. Many states have already passed the measure," he told reporters here.

Abhimanyu also said that "a calendar year should be treated as financial year and like the Central Government, the state government had given its approval to the proposal."

Answering a question on changing the retirement age of government employees, he said a meeting of a sub-committee would be held next week and a decision would be taken after giving the proposal due consideration.

In reply to a question regarding the two brave soldiers from Haryana martyred in the Naxal attack at Sukma in Chhattisgarh, Abhimanyu said as a tribute to them, the Chief Minister, had announced Rs 50 lakh each to their families.
