P Chandrasekaran is Oil India's new Director (Exploration & Development)

A post-graduate in Geology from Madras Presidency College, he also has a Ph.D from IIT Roorkeeon on the subject “Petroleum Prospect and Risk Evaluation”. Dr Chandrasekaran started his career with ONGC at Mumbai as an Operations Geologist in 1984.

Dr P Chandrasekaran has taken over as Director (Exploration and Development) of Oil India Limited (OIL), India's second largest national exploration and production company, on 1 April, 2017.

A post-graduate in Geology from Madras Presidency College, he also has a Ph.D from IIT Roorkeeon on the subject "Petroleum Prospect and Risk Evaluation". Dr Chandrasekaran started his career with ONGC at Mumbai as an Operations Geologist in 1984.

In his rich and illustrious career spanning over 3 decades, Dr Chandrasekaran was closely associated with discoveries like Pasarlapudi, Mandapeta, Lingala, and Ravva. Also, at Assam & Assam Arakan Basin, he was involved in managing all NELP Blocks of the Basin. He has a varied and multifarious experience as his assignments in varied capacities took him to Chennai, Dehradun, Jorhat, and back to Dehradun, before taking over as Basin Manager, Krishna-Godavari Basin (KG).
