Oil India Ltd commissions 52.5 mw wind energy, 500 kw solar project

New Delhi: Oil India Limited (OIL), India's second largest National Exploration & Production Company, has completed another vital milestone in its quest to becoming a Sustainability driven Energy Company, committed to exploring clean energy solutions for the nation. In doing so, OIL has successfully commissioned its fourth commercial Wind Energy Project, viz a 52.5 MW Project in the states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
The 52.5MW Project is split between a 27.3MW capacity Project operational at Kotiya in Gujarat and a 25.2MW capacity Project operational at Unchwas in Madhya Pradesh. The Kotiya, Gujarat sub part of the project was fully commissioned on 12th January, 2018, while the Unchwas, M.P. sub part was fully commissioned on 31st March, 2018.
The Project is fully funded by OIL. The Operation & Maintenance will be done by Suzlon Energy Limited (SEL), Delhi who were also the Project Developers. With this, OIL's present installed capacity under the Renewable Energy domain (Commercial Wind Energy and Solar Energy projects) stands at an impressive 188.1 MW with 174.1MW of Wind Energy Projects and 14MW of Solar Energy Projects respectively.
OIL also commissioned a Captive 500KW Solar Energy Project at Pump Station # 3, Jorhat, Assam on 19th March, 2018, to complement the power requirements of the Pump Station. The Project is fully funded by OIL. The Operation & Maintenance will be done by Ujaas Energy Limited, Indore who were also the project
developers.
