Jewels of corporate India shine at ICAI awards

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, the 2nd largest Cost & Management Accounting body in the world and the largest in Asia organised "14th National Awards for Excellence in Cost Management-2016" on July, 18 at Le Méridien in New Delhi.

CMA Manas Kumar Thakur, President of the Institute welcomed the delegates, awardees and the dignitaries - Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs; Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State (I/C) for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines; Jayadev Galla, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Andhra Pradesh, Uday Pratap Singh, Member of Parliament, Madhya Pradesh.
The President of the Institute elucidated the contribution of the Institute and CMA professionals' contribution in the economic growth of the country.
He, further, explained the significance of these awards and wished the awardees that this recognition would go a long way in further growth of the economy.
Jayadev Galla was proud to mention that he is also one of the receipient of the award and mentioned the importance of Cost Management in manufacturing process and how CMA professionals can facilitate SMEs. Uday Pratap Singh mentioned the need of Cost Management in all walks of life and in day to day activities & congratulated the awardees.
Arjun Ram Meghwal in his address, explained methodology of Cost Management in the olden days, the importance of GST and the benefits of simple & single tax mechanism for the country.
Piyush Goyal, Hon'ble Union Minister of State (I/C) for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines emphasized and addressed the gathering, particularly CMA professionals to spread the mechanism of GST to consumers, vendors, shopkeepers, micro, small and medium industries. He congratulated Finance Ministry for rolling out GST system in the country.
