Irani announces incentives for knitwear sector

NEW DELHI: Textiles Minister Smriti Zubin Irani conducted a stakeholders' meeting for knitting & knitwear sector development on Wednesday at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi.

The announcements made during the meeting included Rs 50 cr sanctioned for the knitwear sector. Under the SAMARTH scheme, training of 1 lakh workers has been approved for the knitwear industry over and above Rs 50 cr in the Budget All pending cases of TUFS will be cleared expeditiously from the Office of the Textile Commissioner.
