Highest-ever power output by NTPC Eastern Region-1

Patna: Eastern region of NTPC on Wednesday achieved the highest-ever power generation of 38,547 million units during the current financial year of 2017-18, a top official on Wednesday said.
"Eastern region of NTPC today achieved the highest-ever power generation of 38,547 million units during the current financial year of 2017-18. The power generation has gone up by 4.57 per cent from the last financial year," Regional Executive Director (East-1) M P Sinha told reporters.
The Barh power station in Bihar has alone registered total generation of 9,160.61 million units which is 21.8 per cent more than the previous year, he said.
NTPC, with better coal management and increase in efficiency, has managed to reduce the power cost significantly at its Barh and Farakka power stations, Sinha said.
On new projects, the regional executive director said that NTPC successfully started commercial generation from the newly constructed Unit 3 and 4 (2X195 MW) from Stage II of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Ltd (KBUNL) at Kanti, Muzaffarpur during the current financial year, Sinha said.
Commercial generation also started from Unit 1 and 2 (2X250MW) from Bhartiya Rail Bijli Company Limited at Nabinagar at Aurangabad, he said.
