PSPCL meets record power demand: A Venu Prasad

A Venu Prasad, IAS, Chairman- cum- Managing Director PSPCL congratulated PSPCL Engineers and employees who were instrumental in meeting the highest ever power demand i.e. 2672 LUs (11681 MW ) on July 10.
He further informed that PSPCL has surpassed the maximum power demand achieved during the last year in the month of July that was 2485 LUs on July 22, 2016 and 11408 MW on July 1, 2016.
A Venu Prasad informed that PSPCL from all its sources is capable of meeting even more demand during the paddy/summer season.Its installed capacity from all sources is 13962.62 MWs.
In addition to it, Power Purchase agreements have also been made/ signed for emergency purchase of power. A Venu Prasad also informed that Punjab has now become power surplus State.
CMD further informed that no power cut on any category of consumers whatsoever is being imposed. PSPCL is meticulously ensuring 8 hours continuous power supply to its 13.75 lac AP consumers.
He also informed that Officers /Officials are working tirelessly during this paddy season and complaints are being attended/ addressed on immediate basis round the clock through control room set up at Zonal Level, Head Office Patiala and through phone No.1912 which is operational for whole of the State.
He also re-iterated that farmers are duly compensated by giving extra supply to their feeders in case of any break-down.
