Coal Secretary dedicates railway project to Nation

Union Coal Secretary Sushil Kumar dedicated a much-awaited railway project, Piparwar-Mc-Cluskieganj to Nation by flagging off a goods train at Rajdhar Siding in Piparwar district of Jharkhand on Saturday.

On this occasion, CCL CMD, Gopal Singh; Deputy Commissioner, Chatra), Sandeep Singh; Police Superintendent,Chatra, Anjani Kumar Jha; Director (Finance) DK Ghosh; Director (Personnel), RS Mahapatra; Director (Technical / Operations), Subir Chandra, Director (P&P) AK Mishra; Senior DOM, Railway (Dhanbad) Sanjay Kumar; General Manager of Piparwar Area S S Ahmed; General Manager, NK Area, KK Mishra; representatives of trade unions, senior officers from CCL Headquarters and others were present.
Kumar, on the occasion, congratulated the CCL management, the State government, local administration and stakeholders for witnessing this much-awaited historic project. While highlighting the benefits of this project, he said that the project will not only reduce the emissions of greenhouse gas but also reduce the cost of coal dispatch due to transportation from railway, which will ultimately benefit consumers, especially the power companies, which could charge law power tariffs from the consumers.
He further pointed out that the Coal Ministry, Coal India and its subsidiary companies like CCL are committed for environmental protection and are working to implement such pending projects at the earliest.
Transportation of coal will begin from Piparwar and surrounding areas from Rajdhar Siding.20 million tonnes of coal can be dispatched from this project. Presently, 4 rake coal is being transported daily, which will increase in future to 12 rakes.
