Panipat Refinery's naphtha cracker plant continues its excellent run

Panipat Naphtha Cracker Plant of Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex, has continuously been achieving excellence in its performance. Recently, Polypropylene (PP) Unit (Both Line1 & Line 2) of Panipat Naphtha Cracker (PNC) have been ranked number one globally under the category of 'Internal Stream Factor' for the year 2016-17, as a part of the benchmark study conducted by the Licensor M/s Lyondell Basell.

The Benchmarking study was carried out among the international players (54 participants globally) and aimed to bring out the worldwide overview of PP unit's performance and capability in terms of reliability, quality and consumptions.

Internal Stream Factor (ISF) is an indicator of the plant downtime caused by unscheduled shutdowns for internal reasons.

The Line-2 of PP unit also acquired 1st position under the category of 'Stream factor for total unscheduled shutdowns' which is an indicator of the plant downtime caused by unscheduled shutdowns both for internal and external causes.

PP units (Line 1 and Line 2) of PNC made remarkable achievement of having internal stream factor of 100% each against the world average of 98.3%. It shows that there is no downtime due to shut downs for internal reasons and demonstrates that outstanding reliability of the equipments is maintained by regular upkeep and maintenance.

High Density Polyethylene Unit of (PNC) has also been ranked number one globally under the category of 'Prime Percentage' and 'Unplanned shutdowns for external reasons' for the year 2016-17, as a part of the benchmark study conducted by the Licensor M/s Lyondell Basell.

The study was carried out among the international players (18 participants globally). Prime percentage is an indicator of Product quality compliance, i.e. the total percentage of prime product produced in the unit.
