Phillips Carbon Black's Q4 profit surges to Rs 28 crore

Phillips Carbon Black, part of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka group, reported a higher profit after tax of Rs 28.14 crore for the fourth-quarter ended March 31, 2017, compared to a Rs 2.73 crore net earned in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue from operations during the quarter under review too rose by 19.83 % at Rs 605.31 crore against Rs 505.10 crore in corresponding previous period. The healthy Q4 results was due to increased operational efficiency, sales volume growth of 11% and improved product mix despite fall in carbon black prices. The company's customer-centric initiatives and sustained demand growth both in domestic and international markets positively also contributed to growth in sales volume.
