Burglars decamp with valuables worth Rs 3.5 lakh in Tamluk

Burglars barged into a house at Tamluk on Tuesday night and looted valuables worth Rs 3.5 lakh. Police said that the valuables included cash, gold jewellery and expensive mobile phones.

The burglars cut the window grille open and entered there. The owner of the house, a trader, lodged a complaint with local police station alleging burglars broke into his house and decamped with Rs 3.5 lakh.

But in his complaint, he also alleged that there may be somebody who is known to his family who masterminded the entire thing.

He alleged that, the burglars had a pretty good idea about every nook and cranny of his house.
They even broke the sophisticated lock of his almirah and looted the cash. The house owner,
his wife and son were sleeping downstairs when the incident happened.

“We lodged a complaint. A team of investigators reached his house to probe the matter. It seemed that some persons known to the family might be in on it. The burglars had fair idea about the position of all the rooms and furniture there,” said the investigating officer.

However, the trader earlier had lodged a complaint, seeking police protection, with the same police station alleging some people earlier tried to barge into his house to loot, but could not do anything as they woke up that night.
