BSNL launches video call office

BSNL on Saturday launched India’s first High quality Video Call Office [VCO]. BSNL is the first telecom service provider in the country to take such an initiative to offer high quality video calling service to the common man. Ahmedabad-based ICT solutions provider, SIS Limited, is the technology partner of BSNL for this next generation video calling service.
The revolutionary Video calling service will soon be available in BSNL VCOs – new avatar of BSNL PCOs. BSNL is initially setting up VCO franchisees across the whole of North and west zone. BSNL is opening VCO outlets in 12 states namely Maharashtra/Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir in first phase. Later on the facility will also be made available in South and East Zone also.
While inaugurating this unique initiative, Sam Pitroda, advisor to the prime minister of India on PIII said ‘This is an unique initiative which can bridge the gap between urban and rural India. This will be a platform for growth as this network is ideal for applications like job interviews, tele-medicine, tele-education .This service can bring people face to face with many other cities and towns without travel. I see India’s coming face-to-face with this service in coming years’
