Bringing out the best from vineyards

Inniskillin Icewine, recognised as one of the world’s great wines, is truly winter’s gift to wine lovers. The city got a taste of the best wine when a gala evening was held on the occasion of the launch and wine tasting of a brand of Icewine at the Canada House in the national Capital.

Harvested at the pinnacle of Canada’s crisp winter, the grapes which are naturally frozen on the vine, are picked when the temperature drops to -10 degree celcius. Only a few drops of luscious nectar can be squeezed from each bunch, which is then expertly guided through fermentation to achieve this rich and alluring speciality of wine known as Icewine. During their long hang time on the vine, Icewine grapes develop intense flavours and aromas. The resulting wine is complex, rich and luscious on the palate and is balanced with brilliant acidity that leaves one craving for more.

Emma Hammson, Regional Director of Asia-Constellation Brands, said: “We are very proud to be the owners and ambassadors of one of the Canadian finest Wines Exporters. Our wines have recognition and put Canada on the Map as the home of world’s finest wines”.

The evening saw high profile guests including the Canadian High Commissioner-Nadir Patel; Andres Barbe, Ambassador of Chile; Yogesh Mathur, President of Moser Baer; Amit Lohani, President of FIFI and many more.
