‘Boyhood introduced me to world cinema’

‘It took 12 years for the director to make this film. I have seen the film and I loved it... This film inspired me to watch world cinema. All kinds of films help an actor to grow. I don't see any difference between commercial or art cinema – a film is a film,’ Varun Dhawan told reporters before the screening of Boyhood at Cinemax, Versova.

He was accompanied Wednesday at the 16th MAMI film festival with his Badlapur director Sriram Raghavan. Boyhood is directed by Richard Linklater.

Talking about the length of the film, he said: ‘When I was watching the film, I didn't know when it came to an end. You don't feel its lengthy. Sriram always says a film is as lengthy as it seems.’

The 16th MAMI film festival which started Tuesday will continue till 21 Oct.
