Boy killed after falling into septic tank

Inspector-in-Charge of Baishnabgarh police station Asim Gope said the incident occurred when the boys 

had gathered on the cover of a septic tank to watch the Eid prayer. All the boys were around 8-10 years old.

Thousands of people had gathered in the area to offer their prayers. Some of them heard the boys crying for help following a loud thud sound. The people reached the spot and found seven boys inside the septic tank. Without losing anytime, the local people initiated the rescue work. 

They managed to rescue all the boys and took them to Malda Medical College and Hospital. Doctors examined the boys and declared 12-year-old Seikh Abdullah brought dead. Three out of the other six were admitted, while the rest were released after treatment.

It was revealed that the septic tank was in a dilapidated state, but the boys were unaware of the fact.
